Another gorgeous layout ... this time from Finland!

Elina from Finland sent me this stunning layout! This is what she wrote:
"For me this October sketch turned out to be quite tricky. The plan and the core idea changed a couple times on the way but I'm still quite happy about the outcome. The page is about my precious daughter. Title '4-vuotias' means 'Four year old' and the journaling surrounding the page reads:

"Once in a while we do 'girl stuff' together, just you and me. We do crafts, we bake and visit the garden shop. You are so sweet when you notice my new hair cut or the newly purchased blouse. You are only four but so full of bubbling girl power!"

The patterned paper is from BasicGrey, and the background cardstock was masked and misted with Glimmer Mist (semi-opaque Chalkboard). The dark brown round leaf pattern was hand-cut with Fiskars fingertip craft knife. Tag and flower were cut with Slice. The text on the tag is a clear sentiment sticker.
Thanks so much for participating again, Elina!

'This lay out is for a dear friend who's 10 year old son, Justin, (pictured in the photo with his mom) passed away this summer. I am holding a scrap next weekend at our church to preserve memories for the family by scrapbooking photos of Justin for them. This is one of the layouts I have made for them. The journal spot is blank so the family can personalize this page with their memories of this event.'

Good news for the Australian girls!

Scrap N Craft With T

Tanyah from 'Scrap 'N' Craft with T' just emailed me and told me she is happy to sponsor my competition/ sketch blog with a monthy gift voucher for AUD $ 15.00! How cool is that? Due to the high international shipping costs the voucher can only be won by an Australian girl. So ... the monthly winner will still be chosen by the Random Number Generator. But ... in addition I will draw an additional Australian winner for the gift voucher! Australian girls will have twice as much chance to win! Woohoo ... is that good news or what?

First layout is from Anja from Germany!

Anja made this layout based on the sketch. Thanks for participating again, Anja!

October 2010 Sketch Competition

A few months ago I started to design my own sketches. Many of you have emailed me to see if I can create a competition with one of my own sketches. Well ... here it is! I have created my own sketches blog where you can see the other sketches I have made too!

Create a layout based on my sketch below and email me a picture of your layout (if you want you can also include another picture or two with details of your layout) before midnight on the 31st of October 2010.

Here are some more 'rules' and details:

  • The winner will be announced in the first few days of November 2010.
  • The winner will be determined by the Random Number Generator.
  • Each layout will get a number, which can be seen on the October 2010 slideshow on the right side of this blog.
  • Please understand that you can only send me one layout every month. I would like everyone who participates to have an equal chance!
  • Don't forget: please let me know your blog address (if you have one), so I can link the layout to you own blog!
IMPORTANT: this competition is open to ANYONE, ANYWHERE in the world!!! It doesn't matter if you live in the US, Europe, Australia, Africa ... I will post the prize to you regardless where you live!

The winner will receive the prize pack pictured above, which has the following items:

  • an acrylic block
  • clear stamps ‘Birthday’ (KaiserCraft)
  • clear stamps ‘Baby’ (KaiserCraft)
  • vintage wood words ‘Baby Boy’ (Lil’Davis Designs)
  • rubons ‘Sentiments’ (TLC)
  • rubons ‘Baby Girl’ (KaiserCraft)
  • chipboard shapes ‘Brackets’ (TLC)

The winner for September 2010 is ....

I just used the Random Number Generator site to determine the winner for the September 2010 competition. There were seven entries and the winner is number 6: Michelle van Wyk from South Africa! Congratulations, Michelle! A few hours after midnight I received a layout from friend Mary Crosthwaite. She knew she was too late, but I still wanted to show you here gorgeous layout:

The competition for October 2010 will be posted later today!
