Francine from Australia sent me this touching layout about the earthquake in New Zealand. This is what she wrote:
I, like so many others have been heartbroken by the news about the earthquake in Christchurch New Zealand. It has been really brought home to us though because we visited New Zealand's south island for three weeks in January, and spent three wonderful days in Christchurch. We stayed in a hotel literally right next door to the Cathedral and I've been devastated by the images coming from Christchurch. Here's a layout I made about the quake. The pictures on the left are ones I took, and the one on the right is one I found on the internet from after the quake. My heart goes out to all those families who have lost loved ones, homes, businesses, etc in the earthquake.
The journalling says:
Having spent three lovely days in the beautiful city of Christchurch on New Zealand's south island in January 2011, it was heartbreaking to hear about the devastating earthquake/aftershock that shook the city on Feb 22, 2011. The loss of life which is still being tallied is horrendous but the "symbol" of Christchurch, its Cathedral, lies in pieces on the ground and is the biggest reminder of what a great loss New Zealand has suffered in this tragedy.
